How to add a new competition to The Library

Registration / Login

To upload a competition, registration is required. You can register or log in to the website on any page of The Library via the link in the top menu by clicking the ‘Log In’ button. A pop‑up window will open where you can enter your username and password, or click the ‘Create New User’ button and complete the registration.

To register, you need to fill in the fields marked with an asterisk: Login, Password, Name (Nickname), and email. The remaining fields modify the text on your home page. A tooltip appears for each parameter when you click inside the corresponding field.

Adding competition

To add a competition, select Add → Competition in the top menu (the icon is located in the top‑left corner on mobile devices). When you click it with the left mouse button or tap it on a touchscreen, the data upload page will open.

Source of information

You can select the file type (the system in which the timing was performed: SportOrg, Winorient, SFR, OE2010, Oevent, or IOF Xml) or leave the default value — the system will then determine the file type automatically. For Winorient, you will be additionally prompted to upload a printout file. From this file, the system identifies the athlete’s start time and calculates the leg distances for the specified course.

If the file with splits is on your device, click the «Choose File» button (or a similar one) in the «Upload splits/protocols» section and specify the path to the file you want to upload. If you have a link to a file with splits hosted online, paste the link into the designated field after «Or provide a link». If you have a printout file for Winorient, please also specify it in the «Upload printouts» section.

After that, click «Save» to add the competition to the system.

The file will be uploaded to the server for analysis. Information about the event name and start date is extracted from it, and then you are prompted to provide additional details about the competition for accurate analysis.

Entering competition information

The program attempts to extract the competition name and its event date from the file. Please verify the correctness of the date. If no date is detected, the system will automatically substitute the competition upload date.

Keep the event name short — exclude the date and venue (they have separate fields)

In the «Competition Logo» field, select a logo from the existing ones. In the «Logo Click URL» field, enter the web page URL to link to.

You can also upload a new logo by clicking «Choose File» in the «Upload new logo» section and selecting the file path on your computer. The logo should be at least 80 pixels high.
